Kofi atta annan[a] (8 april 1938 – 18 august 2018) was a ghanaian diplomat and statesman who served as the seventh secretary-general of the united nations from 1997 to 2006. Kofi annan was a nobel peace prize laureate, secretary-general of the united nations between 1997 and 2006, and the founding chair of the kofi annan foundation, which he set up to mobilise political.
